If we long to believe that the stars rise and set for us, that we are the reason there is a Universe, does science do us a disservice in deflating our conceits?

Thanks for your comments Ali. The interesting thing about the "edge of chaos", is that it is where all the old patterns naturally break down, their fragments swirl around, and in the condition of no structure, a new structure MUST be formed. That word MUST isn't optional and isn't a behavioral term. Chaos doesn't devolve into nothingness. It reforms into a new kind of structure. Unfortunately, masses don't respond to subtle higher energy states. The new structure won't be wildly spiritual, but it will reflect the changes that have taken place since our last world age, 3000 years ago. The very fact that we're having an argument about the validity of torture is a far cry from where we were 3000 years ago, where torture was an expected part of the power dynamic. So even though we won't evolve into a new paradise, I think we'll reform at a better place.

Dear Anne,
We are prisoners of time.
Your splendid article inspired this introduction. So, you are in agreement with the theory that we have many repeating rhythms in our lives (physical, intellectual, emotional, intuitional, etc.). The question is can we be creative enough at the edge of chaos to affect our repeating patterns in an effective way to move into a fitter strange attractor? Or, are we to continue our imprisonment in a jail of repeating patterns?
The more we know, the less we know. Knowledge acts like a lens that magnifies the hidden ignorance behind our thin boundary of knowledge. Your article is a great reading as it charts out this idea clearly.
Like we are trapped in the jail of time the same way we are trapped in the jails of repeating pattern of emotions. I made an endeavor to explain this point in a recent article entitled” Consultative Selling and Customers’ Needs Identification”. I propose a new way to deal with emotions. Would love to know what you think of this article, Anne.
